We finally took a trip down to Midway to see the Ice Castles. We got a good deal on Groupon, and we thought Oliver would enjoy it. He did! He wanted to touch the ice. It was a pretty cool thing, but it definitely would have been better if there were fewer people, but we had already signed up for weekend tickets. Here are some of the highlights.
People there were really nice. We had a few people come up to us and ask if we wanted them to take our picture, so we got a few more photos of all three of us than we normally do. Even though we weren't there for long, we got cold very quickly, as you might expect when you are surrounded by ice. Oliver was upset that we were leaving, but he was glad he got to walk for a little while at the end.
Afterwards, we went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, Tarahumara, because it also is in Midway. It was packed, as usual, but definitely worth it! Oliver fell dead asleep on the way home. Although it was a long drive, it was fun. Hopefully we can enjoy it again next year too!
