Jan's birthday was at the end of August. I threw him a surprise birthday party a few days before his birthday with his friends from work and school. I told him we were meeting my sister, Christina, and her daughter for an ice cream party, and he actually believed it. Then on his actual birthday his Mom and Lito came down for a visit.
Oliver's birthday is coming up. I can't believe he is turning one! It really is amazing home fast time flies by. It literally feels like yesterday that we were checking into the hospital for the delivery. And now he's close to walking and almost off the bottle. Whew! We are going down to Orem, where some of my family lives, to have the party. We bought him a few toys for gifts, as most of his toys are no longer age appropriate. I will definitely post about that! Sooo excited!
As you probably already know, we moved to Roy at the beginning of May. We moved closer to Jan's aviation school, so he can work there. I also recently started working there. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, I pick up the Chinese students and bring them to the grocery store and bring them back home. Who knew I would ever drive a 15 passenger van!?! Thankfully, it's not as hard as I thought it would be. It is a really nice arrangement, because I can bring Oliver! It's only about 6 hours a week, but it will be good to have a little bit more money to pay the bills.
Jan just finished his instrument rating, so he can now fly using the tools in the plane rather than just by sight. He will start working on his commercial license soon, and then after that, he will just need to get his instructor licenses, so he can teach others and earn enough hours to get hired by a commercial airline. Once he gets enough hours, we are hoping that he will be able to use his connections in the Philippines to get on as a pilot there.
And yay for my new blog design! There is so much you can do to customize your blog, and I'm happy I took the time to do it. I love it!
