On Sunday morning, we woke up and gave Oliver his first taste of scrambled egg. Prior to the first birthday, infants can be sensitive to the egg white, so they suggest waiting until the first birthday to let them eat more than the yolk. Well, we waited, and Oliver enjoyed it, just like all foods.
Then he got to open Oma's present. It is this ride-on/walker.
Here is a video of him opening it that you'll enjoy!
When the party started, everyone ate their snacks, and then we did the singing and blowing out candles.
We decided to let him open presents before eating cake, so he wouldn't get his new things dirty.
He got lots of new toys, like a toy flashlight, a storytime book, a firetruck, a rolling popper, a dog on wheels, a ball-popping hippo, an animal puzzle, another walker, and some wobbling trucks. In addition, he also got some new PJs from grandmama, new pants and sweaters from Christina (including the outfit he is wearing), some clothes from Cindy and Carey, and new shoes from Oma. He's a lucky little boy! He is loving all of his new toys so much, he is even letting me type this up while he's awake.
After presents, he ate his cake with such delicacy. Jan was disappointed. He did get plenty all over himself anyway, because he likes to smear food every place on his body that he can reach.
Then it was time to play with the new toys and hang out with the family.
Happy Birthday Oliver!
