Oliver officially turned 18 months old on the 10th. Looking back, I felt like this day would never come. And now, I feel like the time has flown! According to Oliver's 18 month check-up, he weighs 20 lbs 14 oz and is 31" tall. Although we have been trying to put Oliver in nursery since he was 13 months old (they allowed us to put him in early, because we teach sunbeams. It's kind of hard teaching rambunctious 3-year-olds when you have a toddler), he is just now finally staying both hours without too many tears (going to San Diego for Kimmie and Jared's wedding really helped him get over being away from us). His hair is growing a lot more, on the top at least. He can say about 20 words (car, key, cupcake, cookie, cracker, dog, tree, hi, bye, mama, dada, no, book, elmo, hot, hat, head, hurt, cold, all done, baby, etc.). Most of the words he says, only we understand. But
he can understand soooo much! Sometimes I'll ask him something, not thinking he'll understand, but he does. For example, I asked him "Do you want to hold Zoe's leash?" and he held his hand out to take it from me. I can't believe how far he has come in his language skills. He'll be two in no time, and I know I'll be amazed how much more he is speaking!
