Since Then...
I haven't updated the blog in a while, because I usually do it at work when I'm bored. Because I work at a company that deals with schools, the beginning of Fall was absolutely crazy! Now that it has slowed down, I have plenty of time to update it :)
Can you believe it is mid-October already!?! Time has been flying by so fast! We've been married for more than 7 months now, and Zoe has been with us for almost three months! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then the beginning of a whole new year. It's going to keep flying by. I guess that's what happens when you get older...
Zoe has been to the vet three times now for her vaccines. She is fully vaccinated, so she gets the extra tag on her collar. She hates the jingling, so she bites the tags a lot. She cried a lot the first time she got her shots. The second time, she was perfectly quiet, but she was sore a lot afterwards. This last time, she tried running away when she realized she was at the vet. Her heart was racing the whole time, but she was still a strong little girl. She wasn't even sore afterwards. She now weighs 4.2 pounds. She should be adult weight in a few months.
Her hair is getting pretty long, so her hair is almost always in front of her eyes. We've been trying to pull back that hair, so we can actually see her eyes. First we tried bows that were clips made with metal teeth. One time, the clip gave her a gash on her head. The scab fell off and took her hair with it, so she may have a permanent bald spot on the top of her head. Needless to say that we don't use those clips anymore. Next, we tried those tiny rubberbands, but she easily gets them out of her hair by dragging her head on the carpet. Any other ideas?
As for us, not much going on. We were both called to the nursery, and we love it! Church goes by so much faster when you're playing with kids most of the time :) Med school is a no-go for this application year. Jan is going to retake a chemistry class during Winter semester at the Salt Lake Community College. After that, he will study for and retake the MCAT. He will apply again next year, so for now, we will be in Provo for at least another 2 years.
For Halloween, we bought a witch costume for Zoe. She actually doesn't seem to mind it very much. I think the kiddos will love it when they come trick-or-treating. And there will definitely be pictures! For Thanksgiving, we are going to drive down to Vegas and spend it with Jan's family. For Christmas, though, we are planning on doing our own thing, which I'm really excited about. This way, we can determine what kind of traditions we want to have and start them now. I don't know if we should start making cookies for Santa quite yet... That would not be good for the waistline.
