Zoe was getting too shaggy, and her hair was always in her eyes, so we brought her to the groomer. Actually, the groomer came to us... The place we chose drives around in a van, and has everything there. Zoe actually was excited when I handed her off to the groomer, because it was someone new. She didn't know they would be torturing her :) Zoe hates baths, and she's never been groomed before, so I knew it would probably be a nightmare for the groomer. They said she wasn't too bad for her first time, though.
It's a little shorter than we would like it. We can actually see her eyes now, though! See the before and after photos I took.
Jan and I say she looks more like a puppy now and less like a toy :) We do want it to grow back a bit though.
One thing we are happy about is that the groomer got rid of all the tear stained hair around Zoe's eyes. It's a big problem for Maltese, and I try to keep them clean, but since her hair was so long, it was always in her eyes, making the tear staining worse. They were stained when we first brought her home from the breeder, but now that it is gone, we will definitely try to keep it maintained.
Her hair is softer too! We might invest in some puppy conditioner... We spoil her too much. The groomer also used this perfume, which makes her smell really good. She even smelled good this morning, which is a miracle!
Since her hair is short now, we don't want her to get cold during the night, so we are leaving her little sweater on. More pictures to come!!!
